Bone Grafts

 Bone Graft
Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that replaces missing bone with a material called a bone graft. This material not only replaces missing bone, but also helps your bone regrow lost bone. For further information on bone grafting materials used here in our office, we will be happy to set up a consultation appointment for you.

Sinus Lift
A sinus lift, sometimes called a sinus augmentation, is a surgery that adds bone to your upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars to make it taller. The bone is added between your jaw and the maxillary sinuses, which are on either side of your nose. To make room for the bone, the sinus membrane has to be moved upward, or lifted.

The first case (example 1) is an upper left fixed bridge with the back tooth failing due to a fracture. The tooth was extracted. The sinus was lifted and bone graft material was placed below the sinus and in the tooth socket. Example 2 shows excellent results at 6 months.

The second case (example 3), Patient had been missing all back teeth for a long time which made the sinus cavity drop down. A sinus lift was performed and bone added to make it possible for patient to have implants and replace all missing teeth. Example 4 was taken 90 days after sinus lift and bone graft surgery.

Third case (example 5), Patient had a bridge in place which needed replacement. Patient opted not to redo a bridge in this area and wanted an implant instead. A sinus lift and bone graft was needed to have enough bone for an implant. Example 6 is an x-ray taken the day of the surgery. Example 7, x-ray is taken 3 months after surgery.
